Elke was born in Amsterdam and graduated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After moving to New Zealand in 2006, she spent 12 years at Vet Services Wairarapa as a small animal surgeon and clinician.
Elke moved to the Bay of Plenty in 2019 to join Bay Vets Companion animal team at Vets4Petz in Whakatane.
Elke loves her job as a Vet and has a wide interest including surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, cat medicine, dog behavior, eyes, ears and skin. She enjoys working with pets and their owners to find solutions and integrate academic veterinary medicine in a more holistic way.
Elke’s spare time involves Art, Cooking, Building, Cheese making, Fishing, Diving, Surfing and Tramping.
